Richard “Rick” Alan Davis age 67, of Caldwell, OH passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born September 27, 1956 in Cambridge, OH a son of Melvin Davis of Caldwell and the late Betty June Rossiter Davis.
He was a 1974 graduate of Caldwell High School, he went on to earn an associate’s degree in HVAC from Washington State Community College and a bachelor’s degree in business from the Ohio Valley University in Parkersburg, WV. Rick retired from Thermo Fisher Scientific following over 30 years of service. He was raised attending the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Pleasant City and most recently enjoyed watching the Rock City Church in Columbus. Rick was an avid sports fan following the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds, as well as following dirt track racing. He was a faithful NRA member and was a true outdoorsman, he loved to hunt deer and turkey, going trout fishing, and camping with his wife Brooke. He could often be found tending to the farm and all the equipment.
In addition to his mother Betty, he is preceded in death by his son Jason A. Davis.
Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his father Melvin are his wife Brooke Banks Reed Davis whom he married June 6, 2016; sons Christopher Davis of Caldwell, Cody (Jacklynn) Davis of Columbus, OH, Eric (Kathleen “Kat”) Reed of Pleasant Valley, WV, and Kyle (Erin) Reed of Charleston, WV; grandchildren Johnathon and Bentley; sister Denise “Nin” (Fred) Schafer of Senecaville, OH; niece Natosha Schafer; nephews Eli (Miranda) Schafer their daughter Millie, and Daniel (Kayla) Schafer their children Jake, Jack and Lynnie all of Senecaville; uncles Kevin (Leah) Davis and Gene Davis. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 and Sunday, April 14, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service starting at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 53516 Old Infirmary Road, Pleasant City, OH 43772, with Rev. Kenneth Hacker officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
